Be Fruitful and Multiply
I always thought this meant to have lots of kids to populate the earth…literally until today when I saw a creator on Instagram talk about it!
Galatians 5:22-23 says
“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”
What if these are the fruits God meant for us to multiply? I never thought about it this way.
If we are filled with the Holy Spirit then our lives should be filled with the fruits mentioned above.
God loves us so much, He wants us ALL to be saved. He gave us instructions on how to live and how to spread the Good News. Our lives should show others what it’s like to follow Him. Jesus loves us so much, He quite literally showed us how to live…He is the unblemished lamb after all!
Now, as much as I’m writing this saying how we should all strive to live…doesn’t mean that I’m not guilty of anything. That’s the whole point of this blog…to show that I’m TRYING.
Unfortunately we have (mostly) been taught to only look out for ourselves and our best interest but that’s not what the word says. We should actually go out of our way to love our neighbors. To help when they need help, to forgive like God forgives us, to be patient and kind, to exhibit self control when we’re tempted, to show others the joy and peace we have received from the Father.
That’s how we should be fruitful and multiply. To help save as many people as we can and lead them to Christ.
Remember, it’s not our job to change people…but to plant the seed and pray over them so that their seeds will grow into fruit and then they go and plant more seeds and so on and so forth.
We can do it!
