The Good News

Psalm 40:9-10

I have told all your people about your justice.
    I have not been afraid to speak out,
    as you, O Lord, well know.
10 I have not kept the good news of your justice hidden in my heart;
    I have talked about your faithfulness and saving power.
I have told everyone in the great assembly
    of your unfailing love and faithfulness.

Have you ever noticed that people don’t get as upset when you mention other religions, as they do when you mention Jesus? If you take a quick second and REALLY analyze it…it would be easy to see that they fight and deny it so vehemently because deep down inside they know He is the way, the truth, and the life. Why else get so upset and defensive?

God’s word does not change and will always be true. No matter how we may try to glaze over the parts that specifically call us out…and I am guilty of that too…it doesn’t change the fact that HE SAID WHAT HE SAID.

We are ALL sinners. One man, Adam, caused the fall…and one man, Jesus, redeemed us from that fall. We are all covered by His blood, it is up to us to allow Him into our hearts and believe that he died for our sins and was raised again. It is a free gift. Seek Him, reach out for Him and He will reach back out for us. It really is that easy.

Now, the acceptance of what He did for us is easy…but we are called to be the light in the world, the salt of the earth. Life down here isn’t going to be easy; we are all going to have troubles and struggle with sin and temptation but believe me- doing life with Him will always and forever be better than doing it without Him. The goal and reward isn’t here on earth. When Jesus comes back, I want to be found faithful. I want my life to have shown the fruit of being His follower. I want to be on His right side as a sheep - not on His left as a goat. This life here is temporary. We can’t take anything to Heaven with us besides our loved ones IF they are saved.

Before Jesus ascended, He told His disciples to go out and make disciples of ALL nations. That means to spread the Good News and speak up and out about His love and faithfulness. He even said that we will face hatred, and maybe even death, because of His name. He knew these times were coming. We have to stay strong in our faith and endure until the end. Never stop speaking of what He has done for you. Never take your eyes off of Him.

At the end of this life, there is nothing more that I want than to see His smiling face, proud of the way I lived my life for Him.

If you don’t know Him as a loving savior now…when He comes back, you will only know Him as a Judge…and I don’t want that for anyone. He doesn’t want that for anyone.

He never said to be perfect. He said to “take up your cross and follow me,” and to “keep His commandments.” Stay as close to Him as possible, and if/when you get lost or stray, RUN back to Him. Repent and turn away from your sins. He loves all of us, and wants to have a relationship with us.

I used to go days without praying or even thinking about Jesus. Now, I wake up thinking and talking to Him…I drive and worship Him…I pray with my kids…I am convicted when I do something I know I shouldn’t and ask for forgiveness…He has COMPLETELY changed me, and He can change you too - you just have to want it.

Tell everyone. Shout it from the mountaintops. Post it on your social media.

He is the way, the truth, and the life. THE ONLY WAY. Nobody comes to the Father, except through Him.
