He’s Always on Time
I’ve been having a hard time this month questioning my purpose. I go to work every day and pray that I’m given an answer as to whether this is where I’m supposed to be because I don’t exactly love my job. I’ve been feeling like I’m on a hamster wheel and my days just pass by without any real meaning…just the same day on repeat.
So this morning I’m scrolling Instagram and come across a video of someone who said, “I know so many times we’re like “I wish life had a manual”” and pointed to her Bible…and proceeded to read a verse explaining EXACTLY how I’ve been feeling 🥹.
I scrolled through the comments to see what verse it was…someone said Colossians 3…and I go to my Bible app to see if it was the right one…and IT WAS ALREADY ON THE EXACT BOOK AND VERSE.
A God wink y’all.
It’s not a coincidence. It’s all God.
Colossians 3:1-4,12-17
“Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.”
“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”
This life is temporary. I’m stressing about a job that allows me to pay my bills plus some…and wondering what my purpose is…and my purpose is to focus on the kingdom of heaven and doing my best to live a life that reflects that. I’m concerned about things of this earth when I should be thinking of heaven. That’s all that matters. My anxiety and my flesh wouldn’t let me see that.
He’s always on time.
Thank you Father for seeing me, for loving me, and for speaking to me.
