And Another Thing…

This has been heavy on my mind.

I don’t remember where I saw it…probably TikTok if we’re honest lol…but the Bible says that Jesus will return like a thief in the night…which means one second we could be scrolling or driving and the next we will be caught up to meet Him. Just think about that for a second.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-10 says

“For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. When people are saying, “Everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape. But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won’t be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief. For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night. So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk. But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever.”

‭‭We should always be on guard, giving thought to what we say or think because in an instance we could be gone. We need to be clearheaded and ready. This verse makes me tear up thinking of seeing Jesus. This is why we need to read the Bible for ourselves. It’s all in there so we won’t be shocked or surprised when it happens.

I just pray that I am caught up to meet Him with my children 🥹.

These verses also prove that those who are saved in Christ will be raptured BEFORE he pours out his anger on the rest of the world.

More and more I’ve been consumed with the Holy Spirit, and it’s overwhelming thinking about how much He loves us and how much He has done for us and how He literally died FOR US.

I’ve been convicted to stop doing certain things…to stop thinking certain things…to stop saying certain things. That’s MY conviction between me and the Lord. Everyone is different and everyone will have different rules for themselves, but as for me…if I get even an inkling of “ew don’t do that,” I’m not gonna do that!

I find myself looking up at the sky even more, imagining what it will be like to see His face and touch His hands.

More than anything, I want to be found faithful and pleasing in His sight. I want to spend my days reading my Bible and spending time with my family.

I pray for those who are lost, who do not know Jesus, and I plead over their souls, that He will encounter them and soften their hearts so they can receive His love, forgiveness, and salvation.

My daughter and I were talking about His return, and I said that that is why we should always be mindful of the things we speak because we will be held accountable for every thoughtless word (Matthew 12:36). I’m not perfect but I’m working on doing better. Imagine we’re in the middle of cursing someone out and the Rapture begins. Imagine seeing Jesus right when you were about to say something hateful. It’s hard. The tongue is hard to tame (James 3:2-12). We just have to try and pray at every turn. Rebuke our thoughts and ask for forgiveness at every turn.

Revelations 16:15 says

““Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all who are watching for me, who keep their clothing ready so they will not have to walk around naked and ashamed.””

Straight from the mouth of Jesus yall.

May we all have our clothing ready and extra oil for our lamps while we await His glorious return.
